Born Marjorie Ellen Pivonka Mahoney on February 20th, 1936 in Hays, Kansas, Ms. Dusay began her career in Los Angeles as a part of the improvisational comedy troupe The Session which included Rob Reiner and Richard Dreyfuss.
She made her film debut with Elvis Presley in Clam Bake, and film credits include MacArthur and Made in Heaven. Ms. Dusay has worked in stage and screen, and her television credits include series roles on Bret Maverick and Facts of Life and over 150 guest roles in series such as Murder, She Wrote, Heat of the Night, Dallas, and Star Trek. She is perhaps best known for her work in daytime, with roles in Capitol (1983-86, Myrna Clegg), Santa Barbara (1987-88, Pamela Capwell Conrad), and Guiding Light (1993-97, 1998-99 Alexandra Spaulding). She was nominated for an Outstanding Actress Emmy in 1995 for her work on Guiding Light.
Ms. Dusay served as the Kansas Film Commissioner from 1984-1998, and is still active in this organization.
Ms. Dusay lives in Manhattan, is rumored to have been married three times, and is the mother of Deborah Dusay Blocker and the late Randall Dusay, and the grandmother of Deena Randall.
Marj Dusay joined All My Children as Vanessa Bennett in February 1999. Originally intended to be a three month role, she moved to contract status when her character caught on with viewers.
