Kassie DePaiva plays Llanview's bad girl, Blair, who schemes to attain the power and prestige she desperately craves.  Before her role as Blair, on One Life to Live, Kassie played Guiding Light's nice girl, Chelsea Reardon for five years from 1986 to 1991.  Kassie was born and raised in Kentucky and has two older brothers and a younger sister.  Before her acting career, Kassie performed at Nashville's Country Music Mecca Opryland as a singer and, at the age of 18, debuted as a soloist at the legendary Grand Ole Opry.  While working at Opryland, she realized that she wanted to entertain professionally.  To pursue this dream, she enrolled in Indiana University and later, at the University of California at Los Angeles, studying drama.

Kassie became a member of a four-part harmony band called Newport, which performed in the Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas areas.  She left UCLA to travel with the USO on its Far East tour to Japan, Korea and Okinawa.  When she returned to the United States, Kassie sang back-up for soul singer Bobby Womack during two United States and one Great Britain tour.  In 1987, she landed her first movie role in the feature film, Evil Dead II.  Kassie has guest-starred on episodes of the nighttime soap, Melrose Place in 1992 and the syndicated series Baywatch in 1989 and Timetrax in 1993.  She also hosted the show, The Pro Shop.

Kassie married her One Life to Live co-star and current on-screen husband James DePaiva (Max Holden) in 1996, and gave birth to son James Quentin in 1997.  Both Kassie and her husband James have been active in bringing information on hearing impairments to the public since their son was born with a profound hearing loss and recently had a cochlear implant.  Kassie DePaiva has her own web site with links to web sites with useful information on hearing problems.
