Are all Divas middle aged?

Most are, but there are some who jump directly from Maiden to Diva.  My friend, Georgia flew through Maiden with an uneasiness about the whole aspect, spent about 4 and a half minutes in Mother while she considered whether to have a baby or get a cat, opted for the cat and flew headlong into Diva.  Georgia is one of the best Divas I know.

I think that regardless of age, it's difficult for a practicing Witch to get to 3rd Level and beyond (With apologies to both ends of the spectrum - the die hard traditionalists who insist that levels must be acknowledged in ritual and the new eclectics who insist that levels don't even exist - I've seen far, far too much evidence that supports the fact that all serious Witches who 'walk their talk' go through the level changes on about the same schedule with about the same results), experiencing the challenges that comes with the level changes without becoming a Diva.  Some stall out in 2nd level, working as Mothers for the duration of there Craft life, but those who push further into third level and get past its trials are almost all Divas by the time they come out of it (which can take years).

Divahood is about life experience and reaching a particular place of being, not about chronological years, which are a manmade concept.

It sounds like Divas are just bitches.

Mmmm Hmmm.  Typical first level response.  There's a really big difference in being a bitch because you can be versus standing in your own truth and not needing validation from others.  A lot of people who need those around them to do a good deal of tip-toeing socially and who are intimidated by strong women who are confident and happy would think that a Diva is a bitch.  It merely reflects the place they're in and illustrates their drive to conquer what they can't control.  "If you can't fuck it, kill it" is a very strong male directive and insecure women are often threatened by a woman who isn't coy or running with the pack.  This leaves the Diva subject to public scorn (remembering the Witch in the cottage at the corner of the village who is reviled in public but who every woman secretly wants to be and every man secretly wants to bed).  Fortunately, Divas just do not give a damn.

Can Divas still have children?

Many Divas can and do have children, they just do it in a very Diva way and aggressively pursue their own interests while raising them.  Diva's actually make great moms because their self-confidence and independence is modeled for their children, who become more confident and independent in the world themselves.  It's not that Divas can't nurture, it's that they get to choose when and where, whereas the Mommy aspect (think Kwan Yin, Hesta, Demeter) draws its power and definition from their emphasis on nurturing.
