January 31, 2004 News Flash! John Ingle, aka Edward Quartermaine on GH, is moving to Days of Our Lives to play "Mickey Horton," a role played by John Clarke until recently. No word yet on how GH plans to write in his departure. This was reported by ABC Soaps In Depth. We do know that at the time of the fire, Edward suffers a heart attack. Will report more info as I have it. Update the evening of Jan 30th: Talk about dueling magazines! Although SID is reporting that John Ingle is taking over the role, Soap Opera Digest claims Richard Voights will be playing Mickey! Let's grab the popcorn and sit back and watch which one wins this one! Updated again on Jan 31st: We have learned through a variety of sources that Richard Voights is only a temp replacement in the role of Mickey until John Ingle can take over.

-:¦:- January 26, 2004 With February sweeps just around the corner, all three shows are heating up the stories, preparing to culminate in drastic changes across the board, some irrevocable. (Pfft. Nothing is undo-able in soaps, even death. Lulu is the only Spencer so far to have missed courting the Grim Reaper and it's common knowledge that the streets of Port Charles are fairly crawling with the undead -- and I'm not talking vampires). Under severe shake up from orders on high, plenty of changes are afoot and some will be hard for the viewers to accept, even as they see them playing out in the screen in front of them. AMC Jack plays a dangerous game as he puts himself in the line of fire as a suspect in the Cambias murder in order to draw suspicion away from Kendall. Don't worry. This expert lawman knows exactly what he's doing and won't give away sufficient evidence to convict him of murder, just create suspicion, even as far as admitting he planted heroin in Michael's condo. Jack is arrested, but that won't last long. Meanwhile, here's a little memory of Jack and Erica in passions past.
Things also heat up between Kendall and Erica as once again, Erica assures Kendall of her hatred for her, then mistakes her for Michael Cambias and very nearly stabs her before Aidan arrives and saves her. Ryan and Kendall become engaged and next week, Erica learns a secret.
In light of the news that Ryan has chosen Kendall, Greenlee continues to go a little bit nuts, ending up getting caught by Kendall and Ryan after breaking into Kendall's condo. When Jack is arrested, Greenlee goes off on Kendall, blaming her for Jack's predicament. She goes even more nutso when Ryan tells her of the engagement and her actions cause Ryan to decide that enough is enough. Ultimately, Greenlee ends up getting advice on winning Ryan back from a very unlikely source. Liza interrupts Tad's horizontal polka with Krystal and instead, stakes her claim on our favorite cad. They ultimately end up making love. Mary finds a gun with the initials "MC" inscribed on it, puts two and two together and accuses Adam of murdering Michael Cambias. Krystal may well have real feelings for Tad, but a new element is introduced with Dr Hayward takes a liking to her. Those lucky people who get SoapNet will have a happy Valentine's Day as SN airs a weekend marathon devoted to Tad Martin. Hosted by his most recent on-screen paramours, Terri Ivens and Bobbie Eakes, the tad-a-thon airs on the weekend of February 14-15th. Check your local listing for times.
Natalia Cigliuti has been cast as Anita Santos Warner IV, in that she is the fourth actress to play the part. Darlene Tejeiro Dahl last played Anita from 1995 through July 1997. I am withholding judgment on whether or not I'll hate this Santos as much as the others I've met. So far, the family hasn't done much for me. No Bobby Warner yet. OLTL The pretty scenery you're seeing in the Llanview University shots are actually location shots from Princeton University in New Jersey.
British Soul-Lite group, "Simply Red" will be appearing on OLTL on February 13, involved with the Michael/Al and Marcie story. "Simply Red" is headed up by lead singer, Mick Hucknall, who sports the red hair for which the group was named. "Simply Red's" new album, "Home," (right) went double platinum in the UK this month. Click here to get to the band's official site.
Knowing that Marty Saybrooke will be returning to Llanview to testify in Todd/Walker's rape trial adds a certain tension to the mix. Vets will recall that Marty was the victim of a gang rape in which Todd was a major instigator. The story was later spun so that it appeared Todd had real feelings for Marty and she had rejected him (not excusing the whole raping thing, mind you) and the two of them made peace with the past, including Todd taking a backful of bullets intended for Marty's new love, Patrick Thornhart (played by Thorsten Kaye, the real life husband of Marty's portrayer, Susan Haskell). Haskell will first appear on February 16th after leaving the role in 1997. Her performance as Marty won Haskell a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994.
What's this? Good news?? Asa and Renee will again tie the knot on February 13th.
A few new faces will be temporarily showing up in Llanview. Tonye Patano will be playing the judge who presides over Todd's trial after Judge Fitzwater recuses herself from the case. Patano begins on February 10th. Lynne Matthew plays Nurse Bryce, who will be the lucky mentor who will oversee Starr's community service at Llanview Hospital. She appears on January 29th. Braden Matthews played Owen Barnes in today's episode. He's the professor who resigned from his position after busting up Marcie's radio broadcast. Starting January 30th, Lisa Banes will play John and Michael McBain's mother, Eve, who will come to town under Marcie's coaxing.
Three familiar faces will be popping on screen in the next few weeks. John Loprieno will be reprising the role of Cord Roberts to take Sarah/Flash to London (consumer of Buchanans, only to regurgitate them as recast and unrecognizable... unless you're Cord or Clint). Nope, she's not dead. She's just drawn that way.
On February 13th, Jessica Tuck will be back as Megan, Patron Angel of Viki's family. Megan was last seen when Jessica Buchanan lost her own daughter, Megan, but Tuck officially left the role in 1992 when Megan the Senior died in her husband Jake's (Joe Lando - *sigh*) arms after he lifted her lupus-ridden body to look out the window one last time. In the interim, Tuck has been busy, including co-staring in the CBS drama, "Judging Amy" as Gillian Gray.
It is expected that Megan will be showing up to usher out step-father, Ben Davidson. Mark Derwin (currently in "Life With Bonnie") will be again playing Ben, this time for a limited engagement. The rumor is that Ben dies, enabling Viki to get on with her life and Megan is there to take him to the light, so to speak.
GH
Important new has hit for those who
are attending the GH Fan Weekend, July 8-11 in Studio City, California.
Your loving EOS staff has put together the ultimate compendium for the
event and will be adding to it over the next few months. You can
find it here.
Missing He Who Shall Forever Be Real Lucky? Jonathan Jackson will be chatting with fans on his official web site, www.jackson-brothers.com on February 2 at 10pm EST. If you want to submit questions in advance, you can do so at: jonchat@jackson-brothers.com. Since leaving GH in 1999, Jackson has made many movies, including "Deep End of the Ocean" and "Tuck Everlasting." He is married to ex-Hannah, Lisa Vultaggio and the couple has one child.
Kristina Wagner will only be on GH for 2-3 days when she reprises the role of Felicia on March 1st.
Now, onto the scoops. We find out that Jason offered Sam a million dollars to leave town and she turned him down. She tells Sonny this after they kerboink and all I'm thinking is that as far as I'm concerned, a cool mil might buy a lot of things and my absence is indeed one of them. Silly, silly girl.
Watch for the Corinthos battle to heat up as Sonny forbids Carly from seeing her children. Alcazar promises her that he'll get her kiddies for her. (Most gals just get flowers and candy!)
As you've seen, Brian knows that Courtney is the one who plugged him, but da boy is in lub and won't spill the beans.
Still no word on this rumor of the facts surrounding Kristina's paternity coming out. Some say it has to do with Sam, who finds out and doesn't tell Sonny (which is what causes their break up). Others say that Helena finds out. Nothing firm yet.
This love between Carly and Courtney doesn't last forever. The two will soon be in a slapping fight. Things aren't right between Jason and Sonny either.
Luke comes back on the 29th, looks around and wonders WTF (aren't we all?). He'll be getting into the treasure story.
As before, there's a lockdown on info from all of the ABC shows, so not much new scoopage is circling! When I know it, you'll know it.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
