February 6, 2004 Carly and Jason kiss??! (Feb 11th) They think it's a kiss goodbye. Carly gives Alexis the news on Feb 9th and later, Carly is quick to use the information to her own advantage after the fire. The "burned beyond recognition" body is presumed by the people close to him to be Zander's. On Feb 13th, Sonny admits that he still loves Carly. Luke and Skye also share a kiss. Skye and Faith work together to save Luke. A person disguised as a firefighter causes trouble, shooting Brian (draw a target on that guy already) and trying to shoot Jason. Nikolas falls through a roof and later cannot be found. Jason and Courtney have a very brief reunion before it's blown apart again. Mac is injured in the fire, which brings Felicia back around. For all those filled with hope over the news that Chad Brannon is still taping scenes after being killed in the fire, know that CB himself has squashed all hope. He still is leaving the show. The good news is that the threat he issued to Nikolas will NOT be the parting words we hear from this wonderful star on GH. He still has scenes to come. Once he leaves the show, Brannon is expecting to branch out into other TV opportunities, as well as movies. John Ingle was given a 3 year contract on Days of Our Lives. On OLTL, Kevin Dobson is leaving as the governor.

Happy Monday! Happy Groundhog Day (Shout out to Punxsutawney) and Happy Imbolc/Candlemas! Just... happy everything. This is the week that our Eye on Soaps web expenses are due and once again, we need to ask our readers to to help keep us on the air. People were very generous in December, which helped us through both December and January, combined with the few donations received in January. Now, it's a new month and the account is almost completely depleted (there's a little bit stirring around in there with the dustbunnies and moths ). We are asking for your generous help in keeping our website on the net! A recent poll of EOS readers showed that the majority of our readers preferred donations to pop ups or turning into a pay site, so we are hoping everyone who voted for donations is willing to stand behind that decision and give us a hand on a regular basis! A special thanks to those faithful few who donate every single month! There's a special place in Heaven for you folks and we never take you for granted! If the rest of the readers do so and always presume someone else is going to keep us on the net, then one day, we're likely to be gone! I really don't want that because we all (the EOS staff) love writing for you. Every donation helps, from the small to the large. There have been plenty of months that our expenses have been made from a series of smaller donations. You may donate to Eye on Soaps online by clicking on the PayPal button below: Or click here to learn how to contribute via check, money order or (if you're feeling brave) cash. It all goes into the fund to keep EOS on the air, so to speak. Our existence is totally in the hands of the fans. As long as everyone keeps on chipping in to help us meet our monthly expenses, your EOS staff will keep writing! We'll sure do our part to the best of our ability if you can help us by doing your part as well! Now, on to the soaps!! ABC Daytime Emmy Award pre-nominations have been announced. For the complete list, click here. The total lock down on spoiler leakage and major scoops continues at ABC with scoopsters having to beg, borrow or steal to get even a little bit of info. Don't look for it to lighten up until well after sweeps week the end of February. AMC Her name is Brown... Kate Brown... and her cynical edge softens for only four men (that I know of so far). One is, quite fortunately, her husband. The other is Timothy D. Stickney from OLTL. The other is Rupert Everett. Last certainly not least is Richard Shoberg, the fellow to the left who is the former and soon to be again Tom Cudahy. Kate's soft moaning at the news needed no .wav file to be heard in her AMC Spoiler Commentary this week! I'm looking forward to the brief reappearance of this AMC hottie because I missed him the first time, only starting my AMC viewing career 2-3 years ago. If pictures tell the tale, I'm sure I'll enjoy this AMC moment quite a bit. Tom airs again on March 10-11th. Speaking of AMC alumui, former and very brief Jamie, Micah Alberti, is likely to face an interesting case of deja vu all over again when he has a one day shot on ATWT on February 5th. He'll be appearing as the dream time grown son of Rosanna, who is played by his former AMC mom (Dixie), Cady McClain. (ex-Jamie) will make a one day appearances on ATWT on February 5. Ironically, he'll be playing the grown son of the character played by Cady McClain (ex-Dixie) in a dream. Daytime novice, Tanisha Lynn (bit roles in "My Wife and Kids" and "Law and Order") is being cast as Derek's daughter, Danielle. Her first airdate is scheduled for March 9th and she is expected to be a love interest for Reggie.
Long-suffering BAM (Bianca and Maggie) fans will be tossed quite a bone this week when Maggie spontaneously kisses Bianca. Both girls are shocked by the move and Maggie ends up running to Jamie in an attempt to reaffirm her "I'm so not gay" -ness. They, in turn, break into Adam's limo and end up arrested. This is supposedly the setting up of a Maggie-Bianca-Lena triangle. As Kate (see above) so delightfully put it, "It will be groundbreaking. Groundbreaking because it will be the first triangle in the history of soaps not to feature sex scenes." The Cambias murder gets sticky this week when Reverend Lomax takes the stand and confirms that he did indeed perform a legal wedding ceremony for Kendall Hart and Michael Cambias... then identifies Boyd as Michael Cambias. Doh! Not to mention, Myrtle's in the hizzouse! Greenlee continues to rampage out of control, despite Ryan telling her he does care for, but as a friend. He's in love with Kendall. Kendall overhears and misunderstands, ultimately breaking up with Ryan. Greenlee reveals quite a secret in her anger. Erica also learns this week not only that Bianca is still pregnant with La Petite Cambias, but that half the town already knew about it. Hard to tell which sets worse with the Grandmama Apparent (as in, Grandmama if she survives the birth... love literary license!) OLTL
Nuh-iiiice visit from John Loprieno as Cord this week, showing up to usher Flash off to the neck fixin clinic in Big Ben Town. Don't believe the rumors of a return. Neither he nor Flash are expected back for quite some time, but rumor has it that Riley will be leaving soon. More familiar faces will be showing up within the next month, however, when Jessica Tuck (ex-Megan Gordon Harrison), Susan Haskell (ex-Marty Saybrooke) and Ben Derwin (ex-Ben Davidson) show up for brief reprisals of their signature characters. February 13th promises to be a day for the tissues between the resolution of the Marcie and Al story, as well as some special miracles enacted by Megan for her mother. Al will have to give up all of his Al memories and only have his Michael memories, actually living as Michael Al-less if he is to stay with Marcie on earth. Would Michael name his little girl Gabrielle? The boards are alive with talk about the return of Marty Saybrooke for Todd's rape trial. For the full back story on Marty's rape story ten years ago, click here. What this doesn't tell (since it happened much later) is that Marty and Todd made peach with one another and the story was spun from a slightly different angle in flashbacks where Todd was given softie feelings for Marty. The frat boys involved in the rape story are shown to the right (Left to right, back row, Todd Manning, Powell Lord; front row, Kevin Buchanan and Zach Somebody) and Todd was meant to be a temporary character ala Luke Spencer who went through the trial process then *went away* a shamed and convicted man. The strength of Roger Howarth's performance coupled with an instant and enthusiastic fan following garnered Todd a permanent place on the OLTL canvas. In the end, it was Powell who went away after losing his mind. Zach was never really there to begin with and Kevin turned into Kevin Stapleton. You can get a feel for Susan Haskell and her take on Marty in this old interview on her official web site. Despite dropped jaws, it's not particularly surprising that OLTL would revisit Marty and Todd's story right now since current Head Writer, Michael Malone, was the one who penned the original rape story in 1992-93.
As announced in this column last week, it's a done deal, taped and in the can that Dr Stephen Haver is the Music Box Killer. Further details are unknown except that he traps Rae and tells her he will spare her provided she chooses the next victim. She does and selects his sainted mother, Marlena Haver. John figures out who the killer is later this month, but can't seem to prove it while Haver continues to taunt him with games. This resolution to the MBK story falls harshly not just for those who had hoped for a longer stay for Matthew Ashford, who plays Haver, but also to those intrepid and creative viewers who were able to come with with 100 better endings for the story than this. Unbelievably, someone from OLTL looked at the character of Sage on General Hospital and said, "we gotta get us one of those!" Enter upcoming character Shannon McBain, cousin of Michael and John, living with "Aunt Eve." Shannon will be a smart mouthed hottie set to be the third part of a triangle between River and Adrianna. Two problems with this: first, by basic soap rule, for a soap triangle to work, the audience has to actually give a shit about at least two of the three people involved. Secondly, as one wonderful reader pointed out on this subject, it has to be fully believable that the crux of the triangle could attract even one besotted lover, much less two. Silly, silly powers that be. Shannon has yet to be cast, so it's possible it can be averted if saner heads prevail. The antithesis to the upcoming teenybopper triangle is the promise that as this "Adrianna is Dorian's long lost daughter" story intensifies, so will he heat and sexual tension between Dorian and David. One word: Yum!

From the neighborhood of WTF brews a rumor of AJ being recast in the form of Rob Estes. Rumor, rumor, rumor only.
The mysteriously missing Media Domain is back online again, much to the relief of its fans.
Dismiss the rumor going around that Rebecca Herbst is leaving and Liz will die in childbirth or before. So far, it appears to be a fabrication.
In what is no doubt the biggest flipping off ABC has ever experienced, it was announced this week that John Ingle will be taking over the role of Mickey Horton. For those who wrote to disagree that it is actually Richard Voights taking over the role, Voights is only a temporary replacement until Ingle can come on board. As most of you know, John Ingle was recently fired without notice by GH, then practically begged him to return due to fan outcry, but to return to recurring status. Turns out, it was Ingle who dropped the bomb in a big, "See Ya!" There is no word yet on how (or if, he could just fade away) Edward will be written out of GH, but I'm told by a reliable source that the favorite story running between the writers right now is for Tracy to inadvertently or directly be the cause of Edward's death, then incur the wrath of the popular Quartermaines even further (only Dillon, Ned and Emily count, I assure you). Bringing Skye into the story would be even more interesting.
If you want to read a wonderful and objective analysis of Sonny and Carly, hop on over to Coggie's "For What It's Worth" column at Soaptown USA.
Speaking of Coggie (aka Carol Banks Weber), in her Soap Zone GH News and Gossip column, she reports that despite rumors to the contrary, Scott Baldwin does NOT die in the fire, but simply fades away after the fact.
If you want to see Leslie Charleson (Monica), it won't likely happen on GH (since she and Alan seem to only be brought out on a quarter(maine)ly basis), but you can tune into "Friends" Thursday night and see her quick, no lines appearance as she plays "Soap Opera Stars on Pyramid" with Joey Tribiani.
Does Brian have his own agenda for not naming his real shooter? Sounds like blackmail in the making to me! Does to Courtney as well!
Sonny has Carly arrested and tells Ric to throw away the key!
Alexis and Carly are trapped in an elevator together and Alexis ends up telling Carly that Sonny is Kristina's father.
Sonny and Alcazar are in a fight to the death in a stairwell when an explosion traps Alcazar under a fallen beam. After much male posturing and such, Sonny ends up saving his rival.
Our newest EOS columnists, Myra Johanson, posted this picture in her column, Cwoffee Time:
to illustrate that just like the powers that be say, any resemblance Kelly Monaco has to the other many women in Sonny's life is purely coincidental. Um... sure!
GH is casting for the role of "Mary," and it's thought this is a recast SORAS'd version of Brook Lynn (as per the request of Wally Kurth in hopes of getting a bigger story).
Ingo will be appearing on the Wayne Brady show. For more info, click here.
One of the top GH websites on the net needs help for its webmaster. Shirley, from General Hospital Happenings could really use your prayers and good vibes. Her husband, Jack has taken ill and we at Eye on Soaps wish him a safe and healthy recovery. For more information, click here. The update is here.
Our "General Hospital Fan Weekend For Dummies," the ultimate fan guide for this wonderful event, is being updated on an ongoing basis. Watch this week for more interviews and event info.
