More OLTL & Some AMC

More info still!

OLTL:  How about THIS to really piss off Todd?  I have an absolute spoiler that KEVIN buys The Sun!!

AMC:  Just as reliable comes this info...two confessions show up on the Michael Cambias killing.  Erica confesses in court that she is actually the one who killed Michael, but Tad has proof that Erica didn't do it.

Next, Bianca confesses to Erica and Kendall that SHE is the one who murdered Michael!  She at least BELIEVES she did it.  She was at the penthouse with Reggie guarding her, then when Reggie fell asleep, Bianca took his gun from him.  What came next we'll wait to see!

Also on AMC, Marc Menard has been let go as Boyd Laramy and Dax Griffin is out as Justin McCoy (long haired lawyer).

More OLTL

Lots of warnings coming up in OLTL's future!

David warns Todd (while Todd is in prison) that he'd better stay away from the Cramer women and La Whatever (the house) and that he's going to be a part of that family soon!  Sounds like Dorian might have accepted that engagement ring!

Viki warns Todd that while she's supportive of him, he'd better stay away from Kevin.

Blair warns Todd that he'd better stay away from their kids.

Todd does manage to get out of prison.

Looks like Jenn and Riley will be heating up!

7:00am

Wow!  I went to bed at 9am yesterday with a vicious cold, got up this morning to 4,379 letters telling me I'm wrong about Kim McCullough returning to GH.  I'm even getting conflicting information from my sources.  Some say she's not coming back.  Others say only the press release was fake and that is *is* coming back.  Two major GH websites, GHH2 and Wubs (who broke the story) are still maintaining that KM is returning.  GHH2 even gives a first airdate of Monday, March 22nd.  The Wub Queen was sufficiently pissed off by the response to her report that she wrote a flaming nuke boom here about it.  Will KM return?  Some of my best sources say yes, she definitely will.  Some of my best sources say no, she definitely will not.  Hell, I'm just eating my popcorn and watching.

Stop bogarting that... Dr Pepper, Sage!

PS!   In OLTL news, Haver is captured as the Music Box Killer and Rae emerges intact.  the actress is still leaving OLTL soon, but evidently not at the hands of the MBK.  Matthew Ashford was hired knowing it was for a short time and that he would be found out to be the killer.

February 12, 2004

The latest info says that Kim McCullough will be returning for at least three months and that Robin has been through her own tragedy which will be revealed over time.  She also has a new last name (Barr) added to the Scorpio.  ABC is reportedly trying to woo McCullough in for a longer stay.  Of her return, McCullough says, "After being away from daytime for six years, I realized how much I miss my friends at 'General Hospital.  I can't wait to begin working."

In other unexpected news, Anna Lee (THIS part isn't unexpected) will be retiring at the end of March (officially) and the role of Lila will be recast (THAT is the unexpected news) with Lynne Adams (left), formerly of Secret Storm and Guiding Light.  Adams is the sister of actress Brooke Adams and the sister-in-law of "Monk" lead actor, Tony Shalhoub.  No first airdate has yet been given.  With young Jed Allan (right) taking over the role of Edward on March 1st, it's a new day for Lila and Edward.

Death comes for both cops, Brian and Capelli.  It does come out that Capelli, not Jason, shot Brian.

When Courtney is given control of the waterfront (and a big ton of money), she pays off Mike's debts (we get a Mike scene!!).

Honestly... truly... I swear to all that has ever been considered holy... I DO NOT KNOW if Sonny and Carly are going to get back together or not.  I can tell you this, it won't be any time soon.

Another note:   as is indicated above, we do NOT have info other than what is printed here.  Anything we can tell, we print!

February 10, 2004

Several sites are reporting that Kimberly McCullough will be reprising the role of Robin Scorpio for several episodes this spring.  The story broke from Wubs.net, an extremely reliable source after tvguide.com hinted that a major player from the past would soon be returning.  KM's only coming back for a limited time, presumed to be related to the injuries Mac sustained in the fire.  (Never say "never," baby)  God help us if Emily, Liz and Robin get into a "who's more saintly" pissin contest.

A more disturbing rumor questions whether those bandages on Mac's head could indicate, in true soap fashion, a dismissal for John J York and the entry of a different actor in the role.

Also, if the Data Lounge rumors are true, Courtney's foray back into the inferno to grab Skippy the Dog could land her in charge of the waterfront with quite an ethical dilemma to wrangle.  Seems the woman she helped was quite wealthy and loads Courtney down with a windfall, including the rights to the waterfront.  She then gets to determine whether or not Sonny and Jason can continue to do business there.  Funny old world, isn't it?

Special public thanks goes out to LukeSkyeWatcher.  It's people like you for whom we do this work.  For what it's worth, darlin, you're the one who's right.

February 9, 2004

When the word came straight from Disney to get the oomph back into the ABC soap ratings, the order that came from the ABC offices on high was "blow everything up and clear out the dead wood."  As a result, look for continued break ups and weird couple formations.  The idea is that since what was happening wasn't working, so trash it and start again.  Talk among fans is that most anticipate a return to "business as usual" after February sweeps blow through all three soaps.  What will we be left with when spring comes in like a lion?  If the powers that be have their way, it will be new couples that sizzle with a heat to burn away the old and outmoded, as well as a new way of looking at several key characters on all three soaps.  White hats will be traded for black and vice versa as we are shown new facets of the personalities of those already on the screen and a slew of newbies by the time summer hits.

It's a new era, supposedly, and we are going to have to roll with the changes and use a score card to keep up with the new folks that are going to be coming on board in the coming months (as well as the exits, some expected and some surprising ones still to come).  We're looking at three more exits from GH, two more from OLTL and two more from AMC before the last of the snow melts in the North East.  More are pending and the rush of dismissals that are publicly known now are just the beginning.

Remember the industry standard that says that Executive Producers and Head Writers are paid a residual for the on screen use of characters (not the actors, the characters) created during their tenure?  ABC is getting tired of paying those residuals and that's where the order to clear out the dead wood comes from.  The time has come to lose the characters that are padding the wallets of previous regimes and to start creating a healthy retirement package for those currently in office.  In a year, you'll barely recognize the opening montage pictures.  Gone are the days when you can blank out for a week, come back and still know what's going on.  For instance, who is Alan Singer and why do we care if he's having a heart attack?

Another major change you are supposed to notice in the coming months is the wave at creating a multicultural atmosphere on the three shows.  OLTL in particular is eager to refute accusations being hurled in the wake of Nathan Purdee's departure of "whitening" Llanview (not by Purdee per se, but by the fans who are pissed by the blatant refusal to use RJ or Hank in a story).  A major teen story will bring Adrianna into a pubescent luvvvv triangle with her mother (Ramona) is being cast as well in a recurring role.   AMC is adding Derek's daughter, Danielle (Tanisha Lynn) who is supposed to be a love interest for Reggie.  Simone's story is finally going to come to the forefront as more than resident bimbo, but the big question is what to do with her.  There is talk of her returning to her reporter/writer roots.  Justus... well, Justus gets a back story with Faith fleshed out a bit more and that's about it.  In short, a brief nod to changing the color of the canvas with no long term effects likely.

At this year's Daytime Emmy Awards, (Friday, May 21st at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City) ten people will be honored for the Lifetime Achievement award.  Among the honored will be Ray MacDonnell (Joe Martin, AMC), Ruth Warrick (Phoebe Wallingford, AMC), Rachel Ames (Audrey Hardy, GH) and Anna Lee (Lila Quartermaine, GH).

True as rumored.  Super Soap Weekend West at California Adventure in March has been canceled.  No further info is given.  November is still on, so no worries there.

AMC

Paul Cramer shows up on AMC again Tuesday and Wednesday.  Yawn.

Tom Cudahy = Richard Shoberg = March 10-11th.

Simone finds out that Tad has been, well, a cad with both Liza and Krystal.  She's hurt, she's pissed, but can she work up any self-respect?

Bianca has a scare when she thinks that her water has broken and is hurt even further when Erica refuses to see her in the hospital.

Greenlee gets tossed into a hole and Ryan covers the opening with a boulder.  Although this is a favorite dream of mine, in this instance, he doesn't know she's there.

Noticing that she's, well, freaking insane (soap journal coming soon), Erica asks Tad to check into her own activities on the night Michael died.  Both Tad and Erica are shocked by what he learns.

Speaking of Tad, remember that Soapnet is running their "Tad the Cad" special this Saturday and Sunday.  Check local listings for times.

The AMC think tank is considering dumping the whole Fusion story and chalking it up as a valiant effort that didn't quite work.  The less-than-sensational response to the "Sexiest Man" contest was a major disappointment after substantial financial investment and on the practical side, it's becoming difficult to come up with ways to hold together the women who are supposed to be running the company.  Like so many companies before them (Enchantment being the exception), it appears its usefulness has been outlived.  The corporate hotties theme is wearing thin and the idea is to phase out the company scenes and mentions altogether while placing emphasis on the personal lives of the women, then creating an "oh, by the way" quiet demise of Fusion.  In other words, Fusion is about to become Bobby in the attic.

OLTL

I told you last week about this upcoming triangle between Adrianna, River and Shannon McBain, cousin of John and Michael.  Shannon has now been cast in the form of Daneel Harris, formerly Kate on the show "What I Like About You."  Her first air date is March 2nd and she's pretty much a Jenn Rappaport, Jr.  Can't get enough of that Jenn.  Lucky us.  Although River and Shannon will clash at first, it won't take long for the thin line to be crossed, especially as the contrasts between the pristine Adrianna and the brassy Shannon become more obvious.

Marty Saybrooke = Susan Haskell = Monday, Feb 16th.

When Jessica Tuck brings Viki's daughter, Megan, back to work a few miracles around town, it will be storyline tweaks in disguise.  Ben will wake up from his coma, only to ask Viki to promise him that she'll move on with her life without him.  Mark Derwin is on a kitchen pass from "Life With Bonnie" for only one episode to close down the Ben story.  Get the tissues ready, but Viki's "moving on" won't be happening with Kevin Dobson (who plays Governor Harrison Brooks).   Veteran actor, Dobson,  who - moment of trivia - hosted the inaugural balls for both Bill Clinton and the first George Bush, was abruptly let go from the role and there is no word of a recast.

Renee and Asa will be tying the knot again, despite rumors to the contrary.

Kathy Brier (Marcie Walsh) and Nathaniel Marston (Al Holden) are the driving forces behind a charity drive for the Lower Eastside Service Center.  Click here for more info.

Time is drawing close for the conclusion of the Heaven Can Wait story when on Friday, it's revealed whether or not Al will be remaining in Michael's body, sans his own memories.  It's a painfully romantic day all around, right down to the dance between Michael and Marcie seconds before midnight (he had to talk her into not ditching their date!).  Info is locked up tight on this one!

Things continue to get heated between David and Dorian and he actually gives her an engagement ring on Friday.  All I can say, Dave, is it had better be big (the ring, *cough*).

Told you the music box killer was Stephen Haver.  Pfft.  Doubters.

GH

One of the happiest to hear of John Ingle's immigration to Days of Our Lives is future onscreen great-granddaughter, Jillian Clare.  The two met at a recent charity event and she was quite taken with him and eagerly looks forward to working with him professionally.

The role of Edward Quartermaine has been cast with veteran actor, Jed Allan, who is actually a laughingly scant month younger than his on screen son, Stuart Damon.  Go figure.  Allan's first air date in the new role is March 1st.

In the "who's good, who's bad" debate, Ric's white hat is assured.  He's going to be shining through as the consummate husband and father-to-be, seeming to have dumped all signs of any indiscreet (read:  psychotic) behavior.  He's all better now.  That whole kidnapping, killing, poisoning thing was just a nasty fluke, made right by the love of a good woman.

Yup. They went all out on special effects, but from what I saw of the "exterior shots" of the Port Charles hotel today, computer graphics wasn't high on the expense list.  Yikes!  It was like watching a tiny, plastic spaceship fly past with visible fishing line holding it up.  For a plethora of photos of the Cataclysmic Event, click here then scroll down.

Nikolas and Emily may well be one of the couples set to take a fall in the shake up that is to come.  Don't expect anyone who WAS together to still be together in the foreseeable future with the possible exception of Georgie and Dillon.  For all those who are writing to ask if Sonny and Carly will be back together again:  don't count on it.  Not for a long, long time if at all.  Lotsa reasons there.

Supposedly, Lorenzo is going to continue to be made the good guy, while Sonny falls to the darker self more and more.  We aren't supposed to like Sonny in the coming scenes, so be prepared for some real nastiness to ensue.

Zander is likely to leave while putting one over on the people of Port Charles.   Knowing that he's destined to be tried for attempted murder, among other things, Zander uses the fire to make a clean break from the town and from the murder charges.  When the people of PC find a charred body believed to be his, we learn that he's alive and safe.  He might even find a way to frame Nikolas for his "murder."  This will likely be the wedge that comes between Nikolas and Emily.  Chad Brannon is continuing to tape scenes through April, supposedly.

Samantha and Jax happily scrog away, thinking they are dying.  Fire is such an aphrodisiac, don't you know.  Their reunion is very, very short-lived and the flames of passion burn out faster than the hotel does.  Sam and Sonny will continue on full force for a short while longer.

Who will be rescued first for the helicopter ride to safety comes down to a morbid lottery.  Last in line is Nikolas, who ends up presumed dead, only to resurface days later just okey dokey.  In the interim, Emily does the "He's NOT dead!  I'd FEEL it... IN HERE!!!!!" routine.

After they fall through a burning floor, Carly is conked out.  Sonny holds her unconscious body and professes his love to her.  She doesn't hear, but Alcazar does and interrupts things.

Brian takes a turn for the worse, spurring Courtney's guilt to new levels, in addition to her conscience eating away at her for Zander's death.

When Sonny gets back home safely, Michael is relieved to see him, but insists on seeing his mommy immediately.  Sonny agrees, for now.

Carly worries about where she will live, but like all good underworld figures, Alcazar has a safe house and he offers it to her for her use.

As the custody battle heats up, Carly uses the info Alexis gave her in the elevator to blackmail Alexis into helping her to fight for her children.  Sonny had better get ready to do battle with the team from hell!

The GH Fan Weekend Guide has been updated to include more interviews with those behind the scenes people! Click here to get there.

And that, my friends, is that for this Monday.

Take care and have a wonderful week.
