Evidently...
The Fans of Alicia Leigh Willis aren't satisfied by the post below and did
not read my True Confessions column below. Did you know that I have an
"agenda" to get rid of her? :) Shows how much people pay attention,
I guess. So in order to reduce the amount of clutter in my inbox, let's
spell it out.
Willis' contract does NOT expire in June as I heard from 4 different
sources before printing it. According to her official website, Willis was
hired on in December 2001 with a four year contract, so I'm told repeatedly that
would be in effect until December 2005. I have been duly smited for
spreading "vicious rumors," so all of you who are beating me for my agenda to
destroy Ms Willis and her career may cease and desist.
My personal stand is this: Funny as it might seem, a contract does
not a commitment make, at least from the position that we can see.
Contracts are riddled with outs and disclaimers and buy outs and avenues and
excuses and nearly always work for the benefit and machinations of the powers
that be, particularly initial contracts. Anyone remember the well
contracted Angel Boris? I didn't think so. Are we missing our good
friend, Barbara Niven, Liz from OLTL, who was abruptly fired WITH a long-term
contract in place? I think we are.
I reported a rumor that came from what appears to be a good source and
again, it's a rumor. I didn't make it up (If I were making up rumors for
this page, they'd be a hell of a lot better than the crap that is really going
around) and I didn't report it to address any particular agenda or elicit any
particular reaction beyond keeping you guys informed. Inevitably, when a
rumor is printed, the pros are going to rejoice and the cons are going to have
their vitals in a twist. No offense was intended toward Ms Willis, her
family, her personal friends, her dedicated fans, any pets she may have or the
character of Courtney.
For the record, I have been checking around, and the rumor isn't
unfounded. A number of changes are being planned for the GH canvas in the
next few months and whether it happens or not, this is one that is being
considered. That's all I've got to say about that.

First.
I've gotten a number of e-mails critiquing the RUMORS I posted before and
correcting me on Alicia Leigh Willis' contract status, saying she has years to
go. I'm holding out through summer and seeing what happens because I don't
know what to believe any more. Baby, I'm just tellin you what I heard
because dat's my job. I'm still hearing (and I double checked a couple of
other places after the outcry started, well, crying) and I'm hearing from
elsewhere that Liason has a green light (although a long swing to get there,
it's likely by November sweeps) and that ALW may not be sticking around.
As I said, it's not agenda, it's not stirring the pot, it's just repeating the
info I'm still
getting.
Second.
The off topic post is finished, but it's not anything
to bark about. There just isn't much going on.

Adoing!!
Could it be true?? I'm reporting this as RUMOR because the info is
slightly more second hand than I'm used to, but there is a strong indication
that Liason may not be dead... but Courtney just might be!
Again, this is purely rumor, but strong rumor I've heard. We
reported some time back that Guza had gotten the order to "End it" in regard to
Journey and Steve Burton really called a marriage or engagement "the kiss of
death" for a relationship and maintains that Jason still loves Elizabeth.
Since Alicia Leigh Willis' contract is up in June, there is talk of the
character being killed off in some spectacular way just after a big wedding,
leaving the way clear for Elizabeth to help Jason through his grief, with or
without the Lansing bun in the oven. If Liz does lose the baby as rumored
and Faith IS pregnant with Ric's baby as well, that could result in a Faith and
Ric pairing as well.
Of course, the only real indicator that Liason might be on the way back
again was clear when Jason ordered Elizabeth out of the Corinthos penthouse when
she had confronted Carly about the rape. That kind of venom is reserved
only for potential romantic partners!
Liz and Ric DO tie the knot, but not for long.
So yeah, it's just a rumor, but wow. It's a strong one!
On the other side of town, remember it was mentioned that Edward would be
trying out new butlers? The "new butler" will be Alexis in disguise (my
stomach is rolling, but I'll reserve opinion). A little bird tells me that
she looks good in the suit, but the voice ain't right.
Yep, it's on for Skye and Ned, at least as a start. :)
Skye decides she wants to be a mama!
Both Alcazar's brother and Ric's father cause problems in Port Charles.
Maxie sees herself on the internet. Later, she passes out.
Sick or pregnant?
Summer seems to be a goner by all accounts!
And that's all I've got for now!

Time to Curl Up...
...around the ol' mouse and yak about the soaps again. Off topic is
coming for those of you who want an update, but for now, we're dishing the
soaps, honey.
I took a trip up to see Katrina this weekend and pick up a wonderful gift my
sweetie, Ves, sent to me, a magnificent batch of Ginsing tea (YUM!). It's
just the best stuff in the world, but lord knows Sage needs NOT an aphrodisiac.
It's a wonder I don't eat the paint off the walls as it is, but it's yummy
enough that I'm more than willing to take the risk. Chile, before long,
the fish are going to stop swimming when I come into the room.
While I was there, Katrina and
I (NEVER, I mean NEVER call her "Kat." Most folks only make that mistake
ONCE, after which their bodily fluids take about 6-7 hours to thaw out again.
She even made this to remind us that it's well, just not an option) had a few
minutes to consider all of the changes that have been taking place on GH and we
have come to the monumental decision that while certainly all shows will rise
and fall in quality (anyone who has watched for any length of time knows that GH
and OLTL have always vied for best and worst positions amongst themselves), GH
is most likely going to stick with this recent trend of delivering the goods.
Personally, I think someone from on ABC Mount Olympus yelled down to Frons to
get his shiatsu together and start cranking out some quality shows lest the
precariously perched axe over his noggin support take a tumble south.
Something happened because we went from reverse to full steam ahead in .05
seconds. I think Jane Elliot will forever more be heralded as the
harbinger of incredible things, having done a fine job of ushering "must see TV"
back to weekday afternoons.
Many have written worried that her exit will bring the focus back squarely on
the Fab Four and my answer to that is well sort of. Of course, we
have to still work that story and really, it's a good story, we were just
inundated with it to the point of drowning. It's like dietary fiber,
really. You should have some in your diet every day. If you miss a
day, it won't kill ya, but if you eat nothing BUT that, you'll end up sitting in
a rather putrid mess with a bellyache. As a compliment to the other
stories that are going on, the whole Jason-Courtney-Carly-Sonny, with a subset
of Faith-Ric-Liz, fits in very nicely and provides a different shade of darkness
to the landscape that gives Head Writer, Bob Guza, his requisite eternal hard
on. You've got to say one thing for Bob. He hasn't blown anything up
in a long, long time and that's some incredible creative constraint on his part.
Now that we have a lush garden of stories growing with the Quartermaines,
extending out to Skye and Ned and easing into Alexis and Cameron and Zander and
Gia ByProxy (her new name is Gia ByProxy because she's never had her own story,
just other people's stories ByProxy), I think we can expect that it's safe to
count on a more balanced scale at GH. Throw into the mix that the
directive from ABC gods has been handed down to push the young love and we've
got not only Maxie and Georgie's pubescent angst, but the lovable and amiable "WTF???"
of Mac trying once again to pinball his way around the bumpers of Teen Girl
Hysteria & Madness.
Expect that there will be a massive romantic upheaval and the Call to
Romantic Arms has been issued and suddenly Port Charles is 2am at a singles bar
with the eyes of the unattached frantically searching out the crowds for eye
contact with any pulse-carrying potential of the opposite gender. Nikolas
is going to get lovey. AJ is going to get lovey. Skye is going to
get lovey. Ned is going to get lovey. Everyone else may well begin a
vibrant game of musical beds as ties are broken and formed, but one thing you
can count on is that Love is definitely returning to the Afternoon.
With all that lovey getting going around, Ingo is bowing out to take a
vacation and we'll see Jax going off on some venture or another, no doubt
checking up on Brenda in Europe or some such. No love for the Aussie for a
while, as per Ingo's request.
Of course, the boards are all abuzz with viable candidates for Count Stefan's
bed, ranging from Faith (Mommie Dearest, redux!) to Skye to Bobbie (again) to a
Laura recast. As the year that Jonathan Frakes, aka Commander Riker, was
spending in London filming "Thunderbirds," family in tow, comes to a close,
tongues are wagging like metronomes that his wife, Genie Francis, might
resurface as Laura. I can tell ya at this point, there's no indication of
that happening. Laura recast? Maybe, also not likely. She's
still very much in the story as it's likely they are going to fly with Stefan
having a strong hand in how Nikolas has been handling Laura's care (possibly
even returning due to Luke's persistent meddling in the situation) and being an
ongoing presence in her care. There are also strong indicators that
Constance Towers will be returning as Helena. Stephen Nichols begins
taping as Stefan on May 12, his first tape day being pushed out a week by GH.
He answered fan questions on his message forum on stephennichols.net the end of
last month and you can read his replies
here. Nothing much divulged under threat of death from ABC.
Weird all of the baby rumors going around. Writers classically HATE
writing for and around babies and children and most specifically, Bob Guza has
been crowned the King Herod of ABC Daytime for all of the babies he's prevented
from coming into this world or hanging in it for long after birth. We
already have Baby Kristina in the loop, followed closely by the newcoming
Corinthos bundle of joy. Now rumors have pegged not one, but TWO Ric
Lansing offsprings coming along, from Faith and from Liz. I scoffed at the
Faith rumor, but at a recent fan event, Maurice Benard denied that Cynthia
Preston (Faith) would be killed off as rumored, stating that a big storyline was
in the works for her. Could it be? What in the world would
motherhood do to Faith? Could placental blood saturation and circulation
occur in an a cold-blooded mammal whose blood is so cold she bleeds it out a
door in her chest in chunks? If the average woman gets bitchy and
demanding in pregnancy, would Faith become complacent and cuddly?
Speaking of babies, I have to give GH the award for the most overlooked
moment for the scene where AJ caught Carly as she was about to tumble down the
Miscarriage Staircase to certain doom. More should have been made of that
and that's all there is to it.
A friend told me on the way off the cuff that GH is kicking it's own ass
around the tree belatedly for letting Kristina Wagner get away and is looking to
bring back Felicia in some way, shape or form.
Speaking of bringing back, the other shows are working hard on some returns,
both good and bad.
OLTL
Clint will be back for a few episodes beginning on May 22. Clint
Ritchie popped in for Fan February and plans were laid for a visit from the
Buchanan sub-patriarch. All has not been smooth sailing behind the scenes
as OLTL vets return and settle into their established roles while newer faces
try to figure out what all the hoopla is about. Dallas won't be joining
Clint this time (played by, Loyita Chapel, the real life spouse of another
Bunchanan Boy's alter ego, Bob Woods, who also filled the role of "Blaize
Buchanan" in the 1888 story where Clint was transported back in time by a conk
on the head), it seems. It's not likely that Ritchie will entertain the
idea of a permanent return to OLTL. His pal, Executive Producer Frank
Valentini, lured him back from a temp bit, but from what I hear, Ritchie is
still happy retired at the Happy Horse Ranch near Grass Valley, California with
a menagerie of animals under his care.
Viki's other husband may be returning, but could look a little different when
he comes out of that coma. With Mark Derwin set for another season of
"Life With Bonnie," again we're hearing stirrings of a recast for Ben.
Rumors are still flying about David Fumero leaving the show, but not likely
with a dramatic exit for his character, Cris Vega. If both ABC and Fumero
want to keep options open, you can guess that he's going to slink away to art
school or maybe even be sent away in a twisted way, like this heist blowing up
in his face. Death at the hands of Mitch Laurence? Not likely.
Delicious sounding, but not likely.
Dorian takes a little nip to the wing when Mitch's boy, Johnson, shoots her,
but don't worry. It takes more than a little piece of steel hurtling at
her at a jillion miles an our to muss our diva's hair.
Both Gannon boys are likely to be picking up a little action in the chicky
department soon. Lord knows Hank's seriously backed up and needing some
attention.
As Mysterio lets the
cat out of the bag about the hypnotism of Roxy and Nigel motivating their
passion (and Renee??), one would think their romance would be ended. But
is it? Asa brings another butler in the mix to muddy the waters a bit, but
don't worry, Peter Bartlett who plays Nigel Bartholomew Smythe isn't going
anywhere. On the contrary, he'll still be showing up quite a bit as Foxy
Roxy gets her hair salon off the ground and things take off in other areas as
well. Plus, he's not smoking!
Kudos go out to Soapboy from
Soaptown USA for snaring the scoop far before anyone else about the ticking
down of the tenure for co-Head Writers, Gorgon Rayfield and Anna Cascio on
AMC. You could have smashed me into the plaster with a feather when
it was announced that Megan McTavish would be replacing them out gradually,
making me shudder and being to mutter the names "Kit Fisher" and "Raquel Dion"
fitfully before sitting bolt upright in a dank sweat of fear in the night.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 8th, because that will be the last
you'll see of handsome Jack Scalia on AMC. Sadly shaking my head that a
cool actor like this blew onto the screen to be little more than another
bloodied body on the pile of Erica trash. What a shame.
There are strong rumors of a Leo recast.
Additionally, AMC is casting for a Latino Sex Machine, tentatively called
"Pablo" who will be a recurring character, possibly moving into a contract role.
How nice it would be if Simone finally found a place to put all that energy
that's been flying all over the place.
And with that, my darlings, Sage is ready to smack the proverbial sack around
for a bit. As I said, an off topic column will be coming soon, plus, I'll
keep you posted of any vital news that comes along.
Don't forget that if you enjoyed the prime time show "Miracles," starring ex-Gia,
Marissa Ramirez, you can learn about supporting its return by clicking on the

caca is bound to hit the fan.
