So this is Day 2 of operation slim down and I'm in that kind of edgy, wanting to kill people stage of the game.  I'm not really craving anything specific and I'm not even particularly hungry.  I'm just feeling my body responding to changes it doesn't really want to make and as a result, I'm feeling all sensitive and bitchy.  Virgos just don't do well with change, particularly change that is inconvenient.  I even found myself getting really annoyed with Jane Krakowski for lowering herself to do that stupid bb--bbb---ootani-i-i-cals Herbal Essence commercial where she's having multiple orgasms while she shampoos (talking about Ho on a Hairtrigger).  Maybe I'm just getting old, but my immediate thought is to want to say, "Hey, I got KIDS in the room, chick!"  Why we had to depart from the whole Urge to Herbal campaign is beyond me.

Did the Body Flexing both today and yesterday and as is common, I'm a little less sore today.  I really wish the cuddle tools I ordered would get here:  The foot spa, (not to be confused with) The foot massager, the shiatsu massager, the heating pad, the tired/achy muscle massager and the back pad that massages and heats for my chair.  I also scored some Jafra almond body scrub for only $5!  As soon as I get the foot soakin crystals, I'll be in big business.  Mama deserves some comfort.

Still didn't get the pictures done, but I'm about to get off the computer and get busy on the house, which will free up some time tonight to work on them.  I'm going out for an early dinner with Georgia, which is a rare treat.  On Saturday, my ladies group is going to see Brett Butler who is appearing in town.  We were going to go to a movie, but seeing her doesn't cost much more and should be fun for a girls' night out.  Eric is great about watching the kids and was also really awesome last night when I was dead tired and went to bed around 8:30.  I'm still in the last remnants of this sickness and it gets me weary sometimes.

I don't know if it's the Starch Away that I use when I'm having what few carbs I have or what, but I used a test strip today and I'm already a tad into ketosis!  I'm pretty excited about that.  I'm eager to start seeing the effects of the changes I'm making and I know this will help me get there.  After the two weeks are up, I'll be modifying the Atkins induction to include more fiber and veggies and stick to low fat protein.  My plan is to use the induction to clear myself out of the carb cravings and then reintroduce different fibers and veggies until I get a good working plan going.  I'll also start on the exercise other than Body Flexing after two weeks.  The BF will be good to get my body used to stretching, moving and processing more oxygen before I go fully into it.  Eric and I looked into gym membership and while the monthly fees aren't bad, the registration and processing fees are outrageous and far out of our budget.  If nothing else, we've learned to be painfully careful with where our money goes and work hard not to get over extended.  I feel bad for the things I've done this payday to humor myself (the picture albums and frames, the creature comfort stuff), but Eric has been wonderfully understanding and I didn't put us too badly into the ditch.  :)

Hey, has anyone ever seen this before?:

Not the card, but the statue.  I had this once.  I was told it's called "The Protector" and the lady who gave it to me got it from some kind of Catholic convention.  It was just lovely and was a kind of wood grain plaster resin finish.  When I was living in my last house, it was broken to bits and I really miss having it.  I've looked over the net via yahoo, google, e-bay, etc and can't seem to find it.  At the time, she told me it cost $10.  (She had one and was going to the place where she'd gotten hers and I asked her to pick one up for me).   If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know!!  This card, which accompanied it, lists North America Liturgy Resources in Phoenix as the distributor, but I haven't had any luck finding them.  The Phoenix phone book isn't showing a listing for them.

Kids are home and I'm going to get busy doing my house thing and my laundry thing.  I'm excited to see Georgia tonight and the week looks good!

Thanks for being there.

Love,

Good God, She's Verbose!  There's More!
