Honey, I'm Just Kitten Back!

What a glorious day!!  There's a bit of a bite in the air, but the weather is comfy.  There's been a beautiful full moon out and the nights are the perfect degree of coolness to bring on Halloween...Sage's very favorite holiday.  I've been perfecting my costume for the past week...Captain Morgan, of course!!  I wonder what Bender would say about me dressing up as a pirate...heh heh heh.  Yeah, buddy, see what kind of variations you can put on that orange jumpsuit, buddy!  Maybe a little green stem on your head and you can be a pumpkin!    No word yet on how or what Ginger's doing.  She just calls and asks for mom, then mom goes in her room to take the call and closes the door!!  [Sage quickly shifts his gaze from left to right, left to right - "Pssst.  They are up to something, I tell you!"]

I had such a fantastic response to my column on Fat vs Thin that not only am I planning a follow up, but I also want to direct you to a fabulous website that I found as a result.  http://www.barbaraniven.com.  I love her.  She is my new very favorite actress of ABC Daytime.  Peruse the site for a while and check out her own candid story of battling eating disorders to be "perfect."  

Thanks again to everyone who has signed Ma's guest book (see below) for her birthday coming up on Oct 31.  She's been all atwitter reading the well wishes from her "girls."

Mom is doing SO exceptionally well!  I think the last time I saw her this vibrant and healthy was before she took a turn for the worse... 

[Watching OLTL right now...has anyone else noticed that Erika Slezak's nostrils are severely off kilter?  One is quite a bit higher than the other and it's really noticeable in the scene where she is saying she only had one baby and is recalling what Niki said.  Just thought I'd mention that, along with the homicidal tendencies Al, Jen, Cris and now that goofy little fangirl nurse evoke in me.  And when did Gretel turn into such a bitch??]

...around July of 2001.  She's getting around with just her cane now and seldom uses the walker.  She's outside right now putzing around in the garden and is now up in the day more than she's in bed.  I didn't think we'd EVER get back to that again!  Oxygen, folks.  I'm telling ya!  Greatest stuff on earth!

By the way, it's that time again!  I want to thank all of the people who have already stepped up to the bat this month to contribute to Eye on Soaps.  If anyone else would like to send a donation to Eye on Soaps, you can do so by going here.  Several people have asked if it's better to pay by sending a check or money order to Katrina or to send a donation by PayPal.  There are pros and cons to both.  PayPal takes out 7% of every transaction, so we lose a bit on the PayPal transfers, but it's worth it to us for the convenience of the donor.  Either option arrives to us in 3-5 days.  PayPal is deposited directly into the EOS account and takes about 3-4 days to process.  Most letters can be delivered across the US in 3-5 days.  PayPal is an instant payment on the part of the sender and there is no risk of bouncy checks (Hey, most of us have been there!  No shame in that game!) and you don't have to trudge out to get a money order.  Cash is good too, but can be risky.  Most times, it arrives just fine.  I don't think we've had any lost.  So basically, it's all a wash and any of those options is just fine.  Regardless of how much, how little or how it gets here, we won't be offended.  Just...thanks.  Thanks for helping to keep us alive.

More goodies!  Laura Koffman (Kassie) returns.  "Bob" Krimmer (I'd drop "Wortham" too) will be back to try and marry Cris and Jen (and there are plenty of interruptions, including Al who learns it IS his baby) and I've also heard Gina Tognoni rumors (Kelly Cramer).  Marco Dane (Gerald Anthony) has been mentioned as a friend of Roxy's and Gary Tomlin is saying something about MORE CRAMERS showing up by the end of the year.  Dare I hope or is it just Kelly??

Geddy has it that the Morgan nuptials will be seen in flashbacks.

Reactions to the marriage?  Carly is thrilled, Sonny feels a twinge of guilt, Jax is furious (he and Sonny blame one another for it), Quartermaines are surprised, but happy, Courtney is agog, Elizabeth doesn't know because she's off helping Lucky find Luke.

Courtney confides in Bobbie and Bobbie sees between the lines.

Ned says no to Alexis' proposal and Alexis realizes a little too late that she should have said, "Yes, I do love you."

Brenda embellishes the story of her wedding when telling it to the Q's, but remembers the real story herself.

Carly renews her fertility treatments.

Skye and Jax are reunited.

Skye debates telling Jax that Brenda isn't dying, then chooses to keep it to herself after hearing of the wedding.

Gia learns the truth about Alexis' feelings for Ned, then tells him.

Scott is the one who tells Alcazar about Brenda's marriage, then twists the knife a bit.

Alcazar threatens Jason; Jason comes right back on him.

Carly tears Alexis down just before the trial.

Jax makes a grand entrance into the courtroom...on his own two feet.

Alexis takes Scott to task in front of the press after he drops all charges against Alcazar.

Luke is furious when he is told Laura has come to visit him in a prison work camp, but instead finds Elizabeth.

Luke refuses to let Lucky and Elizabeth help him.

At the Halloween party at 101, Alcazar taunts Felicia.

Two women form an alliance with the Devil when they team up with Alcazar to get rid of Brenda.

Skye and Jax make love and Brenda walks in on the afterglow (Skye fully clothed in bed with Jax)

Skye and Brenda have "words" again.

Alcazar's Phantom of the Opera costume causes people to see double when one of his men wears the same costume.

Brenda gets a trick or treater she doesn't want to see!

Courtney leaves the party after receiving a threat.  When she gets home, she is attacked by a masked man.  She fires the gun Jason gave her and...it's Coleman.

He appears dead and she calls Jason, who says he's actually alive.

After Coleman is shot, the stalker calls.

Maxie and Georgie cover for Lucas after he overindulges in champagne (can severe diabetics drink champagne?)

Sonny leaves the party and Carly to go help Brenda.  

Edward goads Carly about Sonny running to Brenda.

Bobbie applauds Carly for her "grown up" suggestion that Sonny check on Brenda.

After Coleman survives surgery, he writes a name in blood:  AJ.

After escaping, Luke, Lucky and Elizabeth are arrested and taken to Port Charles.

Luke is in that dark, morbid, Luke place again.

Nikolas and Gia steal the tape of Laura's confession from Scott.

Luke works hard to keep the tape from being used.

Alexis uses the tape to blackmail Scott into dropping charges against Luke.

After Sonny and Brenda crash with Alcazar's plane, Carly and Jason set out to find their spouses.  They end up in a South American jail (by way of Alcazar), sentenced to death.  This is where we meet the new character, Enrique, who recognizes Sonny's name.

Jason and Carly overtake the guards while being transported and escape.

Sonny manages to get Alcazar knocked out and tied up.

Sonny and Brenda argue over who should be the one to kill him.  

Brenda begs Sonny to kill her, so he kisses her instead.  (OK, makes sense to me...I guess)

A Word From My Mom Dear Girls (and some young men too),  Well, I didn’t I’d get so many people writing to tell an old lady happy birthday, but it sure was nice to read all of the sweet things everyone said.  My birthday is on October 31 and I’ll be 80 years old.  I always did hate it when people would say things like “80 years young” because it makes it sound like there’s some turning point where you stop saying “old” and start saying “young” and that just shows when you really are getting old.  Also, thank you to everyone who sent their good wishes when I was sick before.  I am feeling a lot better now and more so every day, thanks to so many wonderful things that I have in my life.  One of those is this boy that you all think so highly of and well, I guess I do too.  He’s a really good man and I’m real honored that he chose for me to be his mother for the time we’re here on this Earth.  He really is just as wonderful as he seems and is good company for an old lady who can’t get out much.  He just spends too much time taking care of me and the farm and not enough time going out and having fun like a young man should.   I wish that I could fit all of you in my little room so we could watch our stories together and laugh and talk and eat popcorn and drink tea like Sagey and I do.  I know from your letters that you’re all a bunch of wonderful people who deserve the best that life has to give them.  I am constantly amazed that people take time out of their busy lives to externalize and care about an old woman that they hear about from time to time.   It’s not at all hard for me to know why my Sage cares so much about all of you and devotes so much time to making you happy.  For all of the hateful people who use the internet and soap operas to show the world their ugliest selves, there are a hundred of you who are caring, loving, fun and uniquely special people.  I’m thinking of you all and praying for you and wishing you the very best.  You have my blessings and I just want to say thank you again for wishing me a happy early birthday.  I’m going to have Sage print out all of your well wishes so I can show them to my girls.   Well.  I guess that picture Sage found really does look like me.  I’m a pretty good looking old broad if I do say so myself and I’m feeling better all the time, so don’t any of you worry about me.  I’m going to be around to keep this boy in line for a long, long time.  You can still write to me by clicking on the "Sage's Mom's Guestbook" link up at the top of this letter.  I'll read them all.  You've been real sweet to me to say such nice things.  I know this is going to be one of the best birthday's I've had.  I can't really say I've ever gotten so many well wishes before and I thank all of you.
