Since I posted so late last night and since it was so short, I'm going to just add on to this one rather than create a whole new column for today.

Good news!  I found out that one of Josh's friends is taking a road trip down to a town south of here and is going to drop Josh off here late, late, Friday night, then he'll take a Greyhound back up on Sunday, so we'll get to see him on Saturday!!  That's my baby boy to the right!  Click the pic to see it bigger.  We'll all be very glad to see him and as the Fates would have it, our usual group meeting that is held on Saturdays just happened to be switched to Sunday this one time only!  I *love* it when I can see a plan work itself out!!

I've been some kind of sloth this week and can't really say where any of my hours have gone.  It hasn't gone to the site much and definitely not to my house.   The week has pretty much been a blur and here it is Thursday ("Scrubs" tonight!  And a new episode of "Friends!"  Righteous!).  I've decided to shake myself out of the fog by doing a total clean on my house early in the morning so I can enjoy it through the day.  I'm actually going to *gasp* turn off  the computer and not check e-mail or anything during this time AND I'll even do some laundry!!  I'll be back in a few hours with a comprehensive report!  Wish me luck.  Wish me energy! Wish me liquor!

PS:  My rain is finally here by the bucketsful, so I'm dedicating this incredible cleaning efforts to the Universe for its bodacious response to my rain request.

Important info to have. 

A few entries ago, I mentioned that I spent a week without drinking any soda at all.  I've been solely on diet soda for months now, so it was more of an act of will that I could do it while making room for water and such healthy-type things to go in.  I drank hoards of water (still do) and lightly steeped tea.  The following week, I noticed that my teeth had these little brown stains on them!!  Yikes!!  I use a whitening toothpaste, so it was a super surprise and I was NOT thrilled.  I am due for a cleaning (it's been barely 6 months) and I'm an avid brusher because I have real issues with going to the dentist and don't like to have them digging around in there any more than absolutely necessary.  When I was nine, I had a series of nasty experiences with a dentist involving encounters with body parts that ought not have had anything to do with getting teeth filled or cleaned.  (no details, please)  Mom didn't believe me and just thought I didn't want to go to the dentist and took me back for all 4 scheduled appointments.  It was hell.

Since then, I get really freaky uncomfortable when ANYone's hands are in my mouth, even my own.  I am a smart gal  and I can intellectualize this for days, free my inner child, go back and fight by proxy, but nothing I've done has been able to unseat the severe anxiety I feel from the second the appointment is made until about a half hour after I'm safely at home again.  A couple of times I had nitrous during my routine exams and that helped a little for the time of the procedure, but I still get close to freak out as the time nears and after.  Now, it's time again.  Yikes.

Anyway, so there were these stains on my teeth.  Crap.  I wanted some Crest Whitestrips, but those things were $20!!!  Yowzer!  So I got the Simply White instead. 

Things you must know.  It does work.  You have to brush and dry your teeth, then paint this stuff on and let it sit for 30 seconds without your lips closing.  It tastes fairly vile.  You will salivate like a mad dog this whole time with drool running down your chin.  Your tongue will cramp from being held back.  You may even start to get a chin quiver.  Weird.  But it works.  Twice a day.  Tres attractive.

Also, if you eat a Pepto Bismol tablet before you go to sleep, you'll wake up with a black tongue and mouth until it wears off through the day.  Great for scaring the kids.
